Friday First Aid Live. When lockdown started we wanted to keep training but knew that face to face sessions weren’t possible. Yes, we do have over 200 online courses but we do just love training people.

We thought about virtual training and giving things a go we’ve just never had time to do. Friday First Aid Live was born. Green Box Junior 1 & 2 really wanted to get involved so we decided to aim the shows at pre-teens – thier age group. We figured that if they enjoyed it then so would the target audience.

We’ve now had over 12,000 video views on our YouTube Channel and it’s just going from strength to strength. We had some press interest last week so our lovely marketeer Deborah got to work with a press release.

PRESS RELEASE

Online Lifesaving skills for kids

Windsor, 20 April 2020 – Green Box First Aid Training launches virtual First Aid show for kids

Green Box First Aid Training, a Berkshire based company specialised in first aid courses, has launched a new virtual first aid show, Friday First Aid, dedicated to teaching kids new lifesaving skills.

Ideal for 5 to 12 year olds, Friday First Aid is loud and live every Friday morning on YouTube at 10.30am. Hosted by Green Box First Aid Training owner and experienced First Aider, Paul Markham, with support from his two sons and wife Lucy on tech, he presents a 30-minute show covering various first aid and life saving techniques, from choking, to stopping bleeding and patient response.

According to the British Red Cross, up to 59% of deaths by injury could be prevented in the UK if first aid was given prior to the arrival of medical services. With many children currently at home, there is no time like the present to learn such a valuable new skill.

Explains Paul: “Lifesaving first aid is set to be a compulsory part of the national curriculum from 2020 – but with schools currently closed this may not be rolled out as swiftly as planned. With all the kids at home – I thought this would be a great opportunity to bring first aid into the front room and offer every child the chance to learn life-saving skills.”

With compelling sessions including Danger Detectives, to Blood, Bleeding and Bandages, viewers can join in direct from their front room. Every viewer is then invited to complete an online worksheet from the website (www.greenboxfirstaidtraining.co.uk) to receive their very own personalised certificate.

Paul continues: “The response has been fantastic! Our first show welcomed over 7,000 viewers from around the globe, even a school in Doha will be sharing our virtual first aid sessions as part of their Health and Mindfulness classes for 5-7 year olds. I would like to thank everyone watching and joining in at home. The videos and photos we have received of everyone taking part has been amazing.”

Viewers can check out the next Friday First Aid this Friday (25th April) on YouTube here:
