Over the years, we have been asked many questions about our first aid courses and about first aid in general. Below is a list of our most frequently asked questions, or FAQs, that we are typically asked before booking a course, prior to attending the course and even during one of our many first aid training courses.

If one of your FAQs isn’t featured here, please contact us.

A: Yes! Our First Aid at Work Courses are fully compliant and recognised by the HSE.

A: All of our First Aid Courses include training, a manual, certification and a certificate. We don’t hide any cost, it’s all exactly as advertised.

A: Green Box First Aid Training has classroom locations for our First Aid Courses in Windsor, Slough, Bracknell and Newbury and. These locations are where we hold our public first aid training courses. But these can also be used for private group bookings. Our public courses normally run once a month at each venue, please check out our live booking system for details.

We can source rooms anywhere in the country. We use different rooms for different sizes of groups. We also offer courses at your place of work or home all across the country.

A: No, you will need to attend the whole day with us. It is not possible to leave early or miss parts of the course if you want to complete the qualification..

A: No. We will teach you all you need to know on the course, and as we provide manuals covering the topics taught, you don’t even need to take notes if you don’t want to.

A: For most of the courses, there are tests to complete. These are pretty straightforward test papers and only include the topics you have studied. The 3 day First Aid at Work Course also has a couple of practical assessments to complete. Rest assured, it’s our job to make sure that you sail through these and we will help you every step of the way. If you have any special educational needs, we can adapt the course to enable you to demonstrate what you have learnt.

A: Yes. 90% of our courses are in-house first aid courses, where we come to your workplace and train as many people as you need. We cater for all professions from schools to building sites.

A: First aid is a serious subject, but we teach it in a relaxed and fun manner to make it memorable. We spend the first part of each course going through and addressing people’s fears and worries. It’s natural to be scared of the unknown, and through educating you, we will take that fear away.

A: Yes, we are a registered company and we hold public liability insurance up to £6,000,000

A: During the course you will see pictures of cuts and other injuries, and we do show videos of people suffering from heart attacks and cardiac arrests. We do warn people before these come on screen in case they may feel squeamish.

From experience, we have found that when we have dealt with large bleeds, we instinctively rely on our training and it’s only afterwards we reflect on what we have seen. If you do really struggle with the sight of blood, you might want to think about seeking help with your fear before becoming a first aider – there is help out there.

A: No. We make our courses as interactive as possible – as we find that people remember the practical exercises more than us talking! We encourage all students to get involved and practice what they may be asked to do in a real emergency. We have the latest first aid training tools to help you get actively involved.
