FOOD SAFETY LEVEL 1

FOOD SAFETY LEVEL 1

COURSE OVERVIEW

Our food safety level 1 course offers introductory training for all workers involved in any aspect of catering to ensure all food is safe to eat. It is designed to familiarise candidates with basic food hygiene practices so they are able to work safely near food and help ensure any food sold by your business is safe for consumers to eat.

Our level 1 course covers all the basics of food preparation, regulations, precautions and care when preparing food for others. This course is designed to introduce the student to the basic principles of food safety and hygiene. Also for anyone who is a beginner in an environment where food may be prepared, sold, served or stored. The level 1 course can also work for people who operate in workplaces where food is handled or is present but they may not necessarily come in to direct contact with it.

The content ensures that the learners have a better understanding of the risk of food poisoning and how food becomes contaminated. We focus on why we need to keep work areas clean and the steps to take to avoid contamination. This ties in with learning about hygiene safety and gives you an understanding of the Food Hygiene Regulations 2006.

This course can be delivered face to face at your organisation as a half-day course or as online learning. The certificate is valid for 3 years.

We also offer this as an online course.
