Well we thought it was time to get a blog up and running here at Green Box. It seems a good way of keeping in touch and letting you know what we have been up to and what we have got planned.
We will be doing some instructional videos to help you keep those first aid skills up to date and to go through any recommended improvements in first aid techniques and methods.
So, this summer we've been busy. We have had varying courses going on and apart from the Emergency First Aid at Work and the 3 day First Aid at Work courses that we regularly run we have a few different ones going on.
We have been involved with idiveteam and preparing their divers for their PADI Rescue Diver's Course. Firstly doing a 6 hour Emergency First Response Course to go their skills up to speed and to teach them what to do in an emergency. We were able to focus on some specific dive related cases and include providing oxygen to the patient.
We then took this down to a local lake and got stuck in to some real life scenarios so that they got to practice their skills in a very realistic environment.
Here is Crispin and Alex getting to work on Olly who was our patient for the weekend.
So don't think that all first aid courses happen in the classroom - think outside the box!
